I’m not aware of anything currently that both federates and serves as an online store for downloads, although I think this could be cobbled together using WordPress.
Faircamp is good for building a FOSS music site with streaming and downloads though and you can just share a link to your release/s by hand from a fediverse account.

1·5 days agoThat’s great, thank you :) Yes, it is “third places” in English. Do you still have access to the communications they sent out as well as your slideshow? I have graphic design skills and I can read French well enough to reformulate them. Merci!

6·5 days agoWould you be willing to share advice on how to make this happen and any promotional stuff (flyers etc)? I’ve been wanting to do this in my local area but am not sure how to publicise it.

AI should always be a choice — something people can easily turn off.
No big deal. If it turns out to be unethical it will be switched off in Librewolf.

And well done avoiding instagram. I thought it was now just a graveyard for deluded millennial aspiration but apparently not!

Open Source@lemmy.ml•Welcome Dan Williams, new LibreOffice Developer focusing on UI/UX - The Document Foundation Blog
2·17 days agoYMMV but I’ve found the GIMP UI to be pretty much on a par with photoshop after having learnt the UI and learnt/modified the keyboard shortcuts. Some things are in fact better in GIMP, like panning and zooming. I’ve transitioned to GIMP on my own hardware but still use photoshop at a workplace.
If photoshop was open source then I think there would be a conversation to be had but I wouldn’t pay for it now that I’m used to GIMP.

Open Source@lemmy.ml•Welcome Dan Williams, new LibreOffice Developer focusing on UI/UX - The Document Foundation Blog
9·17 days agoGIMP is well worth getting used to, especially now we are post 3.0 with a proper non-destructive workflow for filters/effects. I had always found it confusing to learn, having the Photoshop UI fossilised into my neural pathways, but what unlocked it for me was following an online GIMP course for 2/3 hours, which amounted to far less time than I had formerly spent cracking photoshop or working to pay for it.
Some great plugins are coming out now too. The Batcher plugin in particular makes GIMP (and GMIC by extension) extremely powerful for automation.
Good times.

12·17 days agoGood idea for an app. Linux especially would benefit from more high quality apps aimed at less-technical users.
Would be good to include audio-only conversion too.
