Not if they can’t figure out the peripherals. The only thing missing with the laptop is the dual display. Having to drag around a whole keyboard, mouse, PC, and power bank like that is a lateral move at best. You could probably do what he’s doing with a laptop and it would still be just as if not more compact.
My whole desk setup now easily fits into a backpack and I can take it anywhere
My laptop easily fits in a backpack. Hell I can fit TWO laptops in my backpack.
Yea, it is a complicated issue, but at least the current way offers the little guys some protection. I’ve posted everything I’ve ever made (not that any of it was all that impressive) freely so it doesn’t really matter to me but for some people it may.
But… it’s not the only place to play mario…
This is going to be used corporations to take away everything from individuals who are innovating (more than they already are). Nobody will be able to build wealth off a good idea again. Which if we were in a society where wealth wasn’t required to live a good life I would be okay with, but we aren’t, so I’m not.
Could have been cool and stfu about it but instead put Melissa at risk of being fired… Shit like this is why I don’t do favors for people at work.
Probably in the same dark pattern bullshit they do to get you to turn the rest of their crap on.
Well if it’s funded by taxes they can scale down. That’s the nice thing about everyone chipping in. If less is needed just take less. It’s not like a business that needs to turn a profit.
I’ll never forget the look on my brother’s face after he was talking all kinds of shit about his level 100 venusor that he maxed out with duped rare candies when I one shotted it with my level 50ish Charizard
Why? All those kids are going to need something to do after they tear down the education system.
shocking
What is it actually fair and restrained or something? That’s about the only thing that would actually be shocking at this point. I wouldn’t be surprised to find out they were actually electrocuting people.
Yea, I had a throwaway account already to use for the login so I didn’t bother trying it. They still managed to make it annoying even when I did it their way and agreed it is horseshit.
Agreed.
I DID forget about that. Thanks for reminding me I need to figure out how to opt out (assuming it’s even possible).
Yea just set up a windows 11 pc for the first time and the experience was basically:
It forces you into making a Microsoft account or log in with one, then it told me mine was locked even though I was able to log in fine elsewhere. I had to use the alternate log in method to get in (I know you can make a local account but I already had one set up for this).
Then it tries to force you to “back up from your old pc” which this was an entirely different system so I’m not even sure why I would want that.
Then it tries to convince you to send them a bunch of telemetry while reminding you that you’ll still get ads if you don’t, they just won’t be targeted towards you.
Then it tries to push microsoft office on you.
Then it needs to do updates which took like 45 minutes.
Then you’re finally at the desktop where you get probably half a dozen othe pop ups between windows and the vendor.
Then it’s “usable”
By comparison Bazzite took like 20 minutes to get to a usable desktop and isn’t nagging me about ads at all. I have a laundry list of things still to figure out but so far way less annoying.
Just bought a laptop and put bazzite on it to try it out and figure out if I can do all the things I want to do on it. If that all works out I’ll be switching my desktop over.
It’s saying sometimes people need to hear something that will hurt them in order to get better. Which is true but a lot of people take that as a green light to be an asshole when they find someone who is “wrong”.
It’s good for playing youtube without ads and Netflix which doesnt work with my firefox setup for some reason. That’s all I use it for.
Kids can still aspire to be like them. Would you rather some kid grows up to be in a leadership position who’s been inspired by Trump?
We’re talking about fiction though. Fictional knights can be brave and heroic.
If they weren’t trying to sell more phones they’d have given you a notification with instructions to replace the battery and designed it in a way that a person with no special skills could do so instead of just crippling the device.
