A Quarter Pounder with Cheese or Big Mac is $7.29, for the sandwich alone. The meals are $13.39 and $13.19 respectively. Why is there a difference? The sandwiches cost the same independently and the fries and drink are the same for the meal.
Or let’s get into the grift now… they’re ripping you off with some of the meals. A regular basic Cheeseburger is $2.69, and the meal is $10.39. so they’re saying the “discounted” meal bundle price to add a regular drink and fries is $7.70. So they’re saying the fries and a soda are worth nearly 3x as much as the cheeseburger, which is already ridiculous. But let’s ignore that and look at the cost closer… a regular medium fries is $4.99 and a regular medium soda is $1.39 which comes to $6.38… so they’re actually ripping you off for an additional $1.32 if you get the meal versus the items separately. So you’re paying an additional 10% by getting the meal… Isn’t that what the discount should be?
McDonald’s forgot their place as a cheap fast food burger. It’s almost as expensive as places like Five Guys now, and nowhere near the same level of either flavor or sheer quantity.
It used to be that their app promos made up the difference but now it’s the same like 4 so coupons for specific items and a generic 15% off that really only covers taxes, not the 50%+ increase in prices in the last 2 years. It’s just not worth it anymore.
Even ignoring the international portion, I wouldn’t be surprised if Americans started to notice as well.
So a few possibilities.
If you’re fine paying $50-60 for what amounts to a community graphical overhaul mod that’s fine. I expect more from an actual developer with access to the source code.
A remaster should be releasing Oblivion with an updated engine and graphics, and bringing in some gameplay enhancements from newer games. Technically this meets those requirements, but only by the bare minimum and all of those can be achieved with community mods for free.
A remake would be completely abandoning the decrepit Gamebryo/Creation Engine that’s clearly dragging all of their games down now, and has been for over a decade, and actually giving us something that doesn’t feel like it came out 20+ years ago.
I love the Elder Scrolls, Oblivion is one of my favorite games of all time, and the only one I ever bothered to get every achievement for back on the 360. But I won’t accept a half assed remaster for nearly full price just because it’s what Bethesda wants to distract everyone from the fact that Elder Scrolls 6 isn’t coming out anytime soon and they couldn’t just release Skyrim for the 12th time.
Don’t accept paying for mediocre products just because you’re desperate for content.
More than a coat of paint. They didn’t actually port the game to Unreal 5, they just used it to make the graphics look better. The modding community could have done this years ago if that’s all they wanted to do. Skyblivion is more of a remaster than this official one.
With all of the resources of the original development and sources, I expect more than the modding community is capable of.

The Gamebryo/Creation Engine is still there running the game, it just uses Unreal 5 for the graphical elements. And they updated some of the levelling to work more like Skyrim, because the Oblivion system sucked in comparison.
It’s still the same 20 year old Oblivion under the hood.
Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but calling it a remaster is a bit disingenuous.
Basically, except the newspapers of today no longer care about reputation. They only care about clicks, the bottom line, and speed. Accuracy is no longer a primary focus.

Why bother with that? That’s gonna be $1000 just for the box alone, and still lock me into the Synology ecosystem.
I can build a NAS with more capability for less than that. Like taking a Jonsbo NAS case and have the freedom to do whatever I want with it, with plenty of space to move everything else I’m running over to that as well. Even their N5 would likely be less expensive, and I’d have room for 12 HDDs and 4 SSDs then.
I had been considering upgrading, my current 4 bay Synology is physically full and running out of storage space. Moving that to a larger Synology box and adding drives would be easiest, basically plug and play.
But now instead I’ll probably just switch to a more traditional NAS instead. Run TrueNAS, or maybe give HexOS a look. If I’m going to have to convert from my current proprietary Synology filesystem anyway I might as well rebuild from scratch. As it is I’ve shifted all the services off the Synology and Docker to a dedicated Proxmox box.
I think they were saying the car software wouldn’t add artificial distances to short trips, where it’s more obvious. Not that the real world measurement is difficult or anything like that.

To be fair the bagging area issue is usually caused by a bad configuration, and usually weight based, not camera recognition.
