That port changing stuff is way outdated and hasn’t been effective for a long time.

I was initially considering the index but don’t want to deal with beacons and whatnot. Metas sets seem pretty good so if valves next gen is anything comparable I’ll probably get one.
Steam deck is a banger, I love this thing. If the same care and attention is brought to an index 2, slam dunk.
Animal crossing during COVID was a huge relief.

yeehaw@lemmy.cato Privacy@lemmy.ml•Meta announces always online DRM for all existing and future Quest VR devices42·13 days agoAnd this is why I never considered buying one, because meta owns it. There was also the time they forced login with a meta or Facebook account or something, then they reverted that. But these kinds of things could happen at any point in time.

Got told the same thing about systems administration 20 years ago. I struggled in my initial years. It’s just an upsell to get more people paying for school.

But seriously meh. I’m playing my physical copy backlog on my steam deck now lol
yeehaw@lemmy.cato Games@lemmy.world•The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild's Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Won't Include the DLCEnglish91·17 days agoYa not sure if I’ll ever get a switch 2. I played the living shit out of my switch 1. Easily was my favourite console… Until I got a steam deck. Instantly I have over 1,000 games purchased already and a hefty percentage of them playable.
…not to mention the switch games that are still sitting on my shelf that I just play on here instead.

I have no doubt this console will be successful, but I’m not gonna kid myself and think nobody is going to buy it at that price.

And blizzard. And a handful of other studios because of these bullshit shenanigans.
I also think Plex probably has open vulns and it’s also a more known target. The nail that sticks out furthest gets nailed down.
