There was once a VISA Europe branch that was separate from VISA .inc, it’s not the case anymore since 2015 when VISA bought back ViSA Europe.
There are countries where debit cards are also compatible with a local system and in those countries, banks make the POS devices use that local system by default (for cost cuttings) if the card is compatible and only use Visa/MasterCard if the card is not compatible.
also, depending on where you live, it could get quite hard to keep up with crossing the t’s and doting the i’s legally. some countries want you to keep erchives for x years, some want you to answer to police requests within a short time, others do not consider hijacking as an excuse for a nefarious use of the server of which you are responsible etc. I chose to host a server once, was 8 hours late on an update. got fucked but finaly got my case heard. I’m now using a lan only facing nextcloud server coupled with a VPN connection when I’m out and only use my domain for mail (outsourced the server though).
So they can turn off those weapons whenever they want?
If you need their permission to use the weapons you bought, it sounds a lot like they still are the police and you are only a samaritan that calls them and follow whatever they tell you to do.
The US was far from reaching the end of ways to grow, they just have to keep financing universities and public research then load it up to applied science and VC money…
They got rid of research. They are getting rid of universities financing. They are emptying the pockets of VCs.
Oopsy.

I doubt it changed much and it sounds logical too.
I think he does and it works the same way: Tarifs set by the EU primarily affect people living in EU countries.
Paid builds. You get Access to the source code but you can either build yourself or pay a small amount to have a packaged built and updated whenever.
I also like the twice a year nag screen thunderbird or Wikipedia uses (KDE was right to start doing it too, in my books).
I don’t believe a small donate button in the “about” section of the settings screen is of any use.
