I don’t know about these specifically but in general BIC lighters are made to be used until gas runs out, not very friendly to the environment indeed. But to be honest, there are many much worse things if you consider you can use these for a while before you throw them out.
I modified a Bic lighter to be refillable with a thumbtack. It’s not the safest thing to do and I’d definitely fill it outside if you don’t want to accidentally huff enough lighter fluid to get high, but you can make them refillable.
On a side note: if you smoke bongs, those lighters in the thumbnail are the fucking bomb.
They don’t have a refill port at the bottom? A lot of lighters I’ve seen have it.
