I am constantly in awe of how many people want to watch this cringy dude ramble into a 1080p webcam mounted on the ceiling.

the principle applies to literally all games anyway, but the youtuber almost certainly did that to get clicks.

Pre orders and games as a service are scams from corporations that don’t give a shit about games besides how much money they can make releasing unfinished garbage.

    Controversial opinion:

Pre-ordering or not make no difference.

You can search for it, in 2014 they have reports of a declining in pre-orders industry wide, they don’t give numbers of pre-orders but even if you look at the ranking of sold games in online platforms people buy more days after the release than before or in day of the release.

The boycott of pre-order kinda of worked, more people avoid pre-ordering than before and did that make any difference in the quality of game release? Hell no, they still release game with bugs, not finished with need of day one patches, the entire boycott made 0 impact on this shit.

You can’t convince gamers not to pre-order. I’d bet the guy in this very video will pre-order it. I have not ever witnessed a hobby community that gets so uppity about pricing yet continues to pay. Maybe Warhammer fans can compete but I feel like they are well into the acceptance phase of buying into predatory business practice.

In defence of Warhammer-fans, at least with physical products scarcity can be a thing, and as physical goods they do have resale value.

But yea, plastic crack is expesive. Wish I had a space to use a 3d printer. :P

Honestly i was looking at Dune awakening today, but just before i pressed purchase I remembdered the last game i pre-ordered and how dissapointed i was once it came out and none of the features promised were present.

Not saying the Dune devs would do that but its just not worth it anymore
