Remember: Do NOT preorder

That, and UE5, means I’m super not hyped. I’ll definitely be closely watching reviews, especially on the performance side
And especially do not preorder after “game play trailers”

Not even, it’s a tech demo and has nothing to do with the game outside the assets used. That village will most likely not exist in the final product. I still think it looks fantastic and can’t wait to see more. I would hope this means they are close to releasing something later this year and maybe even get a release date.
I do not pre order, but I am hyped for this.
I expect this will follow the same pattern as their previous games -
- the hype cycle will get fans frothing at the mouth
- the launch will be delayed several times because “we want it to be PERFECT for our fans”
- the actual launch will still be Bethesda-levels of buggy
- Over the first ~year after release the game is slowly patched to be playable
It’s weird seeing it happen again and again.
Remember, folks - 2+ years after launch you’ll be able to purchase the original game + the half-dozen DLCs for a nickel.
(Note: I don’t read anything from games I play, I like to keep the suspense) I’d love for this to be set after Ciri going into the Avalac’h’s portal. That’s considered a bad ending for TW3 but we don’t exactly know what happened and if she would eventually make it back.
Ciri enters the portal in all endings.
I don’t remember anymore. Even the one that she becomes a princess? But you know, I’m talking the one that she doesn’t come back.
Yes, she always goes through the portal. It’s what happens after that varies. She either becomes a Witcher (looks like that will be the canon ending considering Witcher 4), becomes an empress or she doesn’t come back. In the latter ending it’s implied (but left up for debate) that she dies. It’s also very heavily implied that Geralt dies in that one.
Huh, I don’t really get the trailer. Is that guy from the previous games? Or is he just a random monster victim. What’s the significance of salt? Why would the coin have her fooled?
Sorry if I’m ignorant to common lore.
Most of the people that appear in Witcher trailers are just random victims or passer-bys.
This video was split into 2, in the other half we learn that the merchant told ciri that he was transporting salt. And that was a chest full of coins.
So just a stupid IGN decision, not your fault nor some lore that you’re unaware of.
Oh, thank you! I’ll have to find the 2nd half. It did seem rather short on its own for a trailer!
Can’t wait to see how bad this launch is. I love watching YouTube videos about big budget games that turn out horrible
